Lones
Interested in working with girls in a non-traditional Unit setting? As a Lone Guider, you interact with girls via correspondence. Girls in Lone Units earn badges, do service projects, play games and participate in fun activities.
Why would a girl join as a Lone Member?
- A girl that had to move outside of Canada and she needs to complete program she was working on in Canada
- A Leader became ill and closed the Unit. and girls need to finish a year
- The girl doesn't have time to attend regular weekly meetings due to competitive sports or other commitments
- A girl becomes very ill and it is difficult to attend weekly meetings until she is feeling better
- There isn't a Unit in town for the branch the girl should move or belong to
- A girl between the ages of 15 and 17 who wants to work as a Junior Leader with younger girls to develop leadership skills may join as a Ranger.

Awards & Recognition

The presentation of awards and recognition is part of the girl core program in the form of pins, badges and certificates as well as praise from others. Adult Members also receive awards and recognition through nominations by other Members. There are both national and provincial awards.
