Provincial Level Volunteers
In Ontario, provincial level volunteers fulfill key roles such as Elected Council Member, Administrative Community Leader, Adviser, Council, Girl Forum and Specialty Communities. For all roles the individual must be a Member of GGC.
After applications are received they are reviewed and other volunteers select candidates based on the information in the application and an interview as well as reference check to ensure we have the most suited individual in the role.

Administrative Community Leader (ACL) in Communities 3, 8, 19, & 39. In Community 34 we are looking for a co-ACL. ACL's will work in partnership with the Unit Administrator and Specialty Community Members of her choosing.

Provincial Property Extreme Specialty Community (PPESC)
Looking for 4-5 individuals (GGC Members or non membes) to work along side the Property Adviser and Property Business Manager
PPESC Position Description
The key purposes of this community are to:
-On behalf of Ontario Council, oversee the management and operations of the physical property across Ontario
-Provide resources, direction and support to the LPESC to operate safe, clean, equipped property for the delivery the camping program to GGC Members
-Ensure that all legislative requirements and ways of work as they relate to the property are complied with.

- want to be an ambassador welcoming and encouraging Guiders to go camping?
- like being outdoors and maintenance attracts you?
- like managing finances?
- like assisting at work weekends or doing inventory?
- like planning, developing and running camping events?
We are looking for volunteers to head or join some of the teams to help support our camp properties. We need your help at all camps but the following especially need teams and a Camp Contact:
Camp Kienuka, near Dunnville, TRHAC, near New Lowell, and Piper's Hill Camp, near Colgan. Expertise in Extreme Specialty Communities may be sought within and beyond our membership base.
Provincial Specialty Communities:
Specialty Communities may be:
- Program based – to implement specific projects to support program-based opportunities for girl Members such as camping, international, program, or Lones.
- Adult-based – to provide opportunities and enrichment for adult Members such as Unit Guiders, Link, Trefoil Guild, Trainers.
- Management-based – to provide management of specific operations of Ontario Council such as finances, cookies, property, merchandising, public relations,archives, membership.
Specialty Communities develop:
- As a result of needs identified by Members and/or employees working at the provincial level
- As a result of a need identified by local Guiding Members to the ACL
Specialty Communities dissolve when the function no longer is required.
COOKIES
Cookie Receivers - We are looking for new and returning Cookie Receivers for the Fall 2012 Chocolatey Mint Campaign.
Please note that a Cookie Receiver does not have to be an active Guider, we have husbands, family friends, and local business owners that assist with deliveries each campaign.
Requirements:
- Have a location where cookies can be stored in a clean, cool environment.
- Be available from 9:00am - 5:00pm to accept the delivery, as we are given no set time as to when the delivery will occur.
- Once the delivery arrives the Cookie Receiver is responsible for ensuring that no cases are damaged and that the correct number is delivered. Cases must be thoroughly inspected and counted before Delivery Company leaves location.
- When Units come to receive their cookies, the Cookie Receiver will be provided with a document that requires all Unit signatures upon pick-up. The Cookie Receiver is responsible for completing and returning this form to Province in a timely manner.
- Be willing hold the cases of cookies for 3-4 days, in case some units are unable to pick-up the first day of delivery.

Cookie Specialists - This group of Guiders will work with the Cookie Adviser to assist with the management of cookies within the local community groups including arranging selling venues and blitz campaigns for the units in the vicinity. This Specialty Group will work closely with the Provincial Cookie Adviser and the Cookie Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of cookies throughout the province. Candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills. No previous cookie experience is required; however knowledge of the cookie process is a definite asset. The Program Adviser is looking for Guiders to help produce online resource tools to help new Guiders with their weekly program planning and for those experienced Guiders who are looking to freshen up their meetings.
FINANCE
Are you a ‘numbers’ person? Do you have good communication skills? Do you enjoy working with adults? We need your expertise for four new specialty communities.
- Finance Support Community – to provide support for Unit Guiders in the use of the centralized banking system and to assist in resolving financial questions and issues that may arise at the Unit level
- Unit Financial Review Community – if you have accounting/bookkeeping training your assistance in conducting year end Unit reviews is needed
- Finance Extreme Specialty Community – when major problems arise, we need assistance to investigate and resolve the issues.
- Finance Support Independent International Trips – if you have bookkeeping skills and are familiar with travel in Guiding we are looking for individuals in conducting reviews after the trips are complete.

CAMPING
The Camping Adviser is looking for individuals to promote camping in Ontario (at GGC camps!) as well as help mentor those Guiders that may not feel comfortable camping and with some of the processes for the OAL training. Contact the Camping Adviser.
